The Garden Party Process

It starts with a raw, undyed garment. Cut & sewn domestically in New York City, using only certified organic, dead stock or made-to-order (limited run) fabrics. Minimal waste, quality over quantity. The process is labor intensive, with multiple steps and many hands involved in the production of each individual garment.

We utilize a variety of botanical dye techniques. Shown here is preparation for marigold and safflower bundle dye, after the fabric has been washed, mordanted, and base dyed, before ‘bundling’ and steaming to release the plant color. We stick to lightfast, traditional colorants to obtain the most lasting, spectacular results.
